With only a few days remaining, I have achieved my July Goal for OMG (One Monthly Goal).
My Interlock Quilt, a fabulous jelly roll pattern by Amy Friend @ During Quiet Time was started in the first half of 2015 with the very best of intentions. Unfortunately, it soon managed to become lost and abandoned in my rather large pile of WIP’s…
After failing to complete my June goal, I set myself the reasonable task this month of finishing the remaining eight blocks and putting this flimsy together.
Let’s just say that I’m very happy with the result 🙂
I used a jelly roll from a collection by Zen Chic (Moda) called Reel Time. The overall theme is “inspired by elements and colors from the film industry.”
I love how this quilt has turned out and think that the combination of colours and fabrics, along with the black solid background, make it a great “man” (or boy) quilt. Luckily, with a husband and two sons, this quilt should prove to be a favourite!
Happy to be linking up with Heidi @ Red Letter Quilts for One Monthly Goal, Beth @ Cooking Up Quilts for Main Crush Monday, Lorna @ Sew Fresh Quilts for Let’s Bee Social and Kelly @ My Quilt Infatuation for Needle and Thread Thursday!
Congratulations on your finish! It looks great!

You are just motoring along. This quilt top is really beautiful. I have a tone of this fabric and I love how it looks in your quilt paired with the black background. I’ll have to figure out what to do with mine, although I don’t have as much of the range…That sees to happen in Canada we get part of a range.

This is lovely – isn’t it funny how something can languish unfinished when it’s so lovely to finish – does that make sense???! I signed up for OMG for the first time this month so thanks for the reminder that I actually need to achieve it …. 1/2 is done (the fabric selection) but 1/2 is not (making an actual block) – will add to my ever growing list for tomorrow!

A very exciting quilt with the colors popping out against the black. Reminds me of electrical things also, because my husband was an engineer and would have loved it. I’ve seen the precuts of the collection online, but what you sis with them is great. BTW, my post is acting weird, just hit the Home button and it will show up.

Congratulations on finishing your goal! The quilt looks great. Fun pattern and your color combination makes it a non gender specific quilt – maybe even a little on the manly side 🙂

That’s a very striking quilt! And, as you say, great for a guy. I know I struggle with finding more “manly” prints sometimes, I should possibly be glad that I don’t have to make more quilts for men!
